FOR AN EXCITING & DYNAMIC AFTER SCHOOL SCIENCE ENRICHMENT PROGRAM

Looking for a fun, lively and exciting place to work? We're offering an opportunity for enthusiastic Science Aides and Instructors who are passionate about working with children and sharing a love of science.Come make a difference! Dynamic staff needed to work as a team; A September to December or January thru May commitment is essential. Only someone with the following qualities need apply: DEPENDABILITY, CREATIVITY, PATIENCE and experience working with elementary age children, ability to manage a classroom and a fun, active attitude!

Spectrum of Science Foundation is a small company and constant attention to all details is a focus. Our curriculum encourages questioning, independent thinking and self discovery. Each week the children investigate a certain topic and, in addition to the take home part of the lesson, they gather a set of visual cards with details on each week’s topic.


TEACHER QUALIFICATIONS :
1. BA/BS preferred
2. Energetic, detail-oriented, organized self starter who can multi-task, find creative solutions and be flexible in a changing work environment.
3. Spanish/English bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply
4. Enjoy working with children
5. Science knowledge not necessary we provide all materials, training and resources
6. Must obtain DOJ fingerprint clearance

Responsibilities:
1. Work under the direction of the company owners
2. Teach science curriculum provided to you (YES! we will train)
3. Maintain classroom management & create an exciting, dynamic environment
4. Other duties as assigned

AID QUALIFICATIONS:

2. Assist teacher with class management, support the children as needed & distribute science supplies curriculum
3. Create an exciting, dynamic environment
4. Other duties as assigned

INTERN QUALIFICATIONS: (yes, you get paid! & you get great experience!)
1. At least 2 years of high school
2. Energetic, detail-oriented, organized self starter who can multi-task, find creative solutions and be flexible in a changing work environment
3. Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply
4. Enjoy working with children
5. Science knowledge not necessary we provide all materials, training and resources
6. Must obtain DOJ fingerprint clearance
7. Ability to get to Pleasanton, Livermore, Castro Valley or Dublin Elementary Schools (most labs begin about 3 pm; Castro Valley schools begin at 1:40 pm)

This is a part time job: 3 to 25 hours per week available

Compensation: $9-16/hr DOE
