For school year 2012 – 2013 join our future scientists leading boldly & making a difference investigating playful, unusual, & content-rich topics with hands on - make it & take it activities & projects! All curriculum is new & developed in collaboration with science experts using the parameters of STEM!!
SPACE: Quivering with Curiosity! Imagine being a tiny traveler to the nether regions of the universe! NASA “Curiosity” has landed! Use solar power to move your “Exploration Bug”! Can it move on the surface of the planet? Investigate Pluto & understand stellar nurseries! All this & more including the crazy glue of the universe!
CELEBRATE CHEMISTRY! Anxious to be in the lab again? Love to measure, scoop, mix & pour? Clarify chemistry! Test a wide variety of liquids - is it thin or thick or solid? All new combinations & results! Fizz & whiz with sizzling fun & science using basic resources!
PHYSICS FOCUS: These labs explore the fun of physics! This is matter & motion! There are spiral bouncy happenings in the epicenter of science! Build a dodecahedron project or a geodesic dome, even a polariscope or phenkistoscope!! Newton made science fun for us! Can you use physics to give “bad” directions? Awesome & amazing savvy science in physics!
ONE OCEAN, ONE WORLD: Discover the aquatic ecosystem & animals which live in this unique environment. Investigate ntural, sustainable aqua-culture to help protect our resources! What is a “bite size” meal? How do interspecies animals keep from becoming a “meal in a bite”? How & why does an animal behave as it does? Through research & education young future scientists will gain insights into the underwater world that surrounds us!
AERONAUTICS: RACE CARS AND ROCKETS! Varroom! Is it a rocket or a race car? How do they compare? Build a rolling daredevil dragster! Understand the forces behind crossover & development of the scientific principles of speed! Can we achieve travel into space? This is a great way to introduce children to the exciting world of space flight physics & Earth bound aeronautics!!

BURGEONING BOTANY: Examine extraordinary plants - savages that love to eat meat & prickly slimy ones! Look for secrets hidden inside a seed! Check out a hydrophobic plant! Is it fruit or vegetable? Take home that carnivore!
GENERAL SCIENCE ODDITIES: Are you inquisitive? Let’s snoop & pry! What is that? It is really interesting! Find the necessary yet unseen in a dissection! These labs are developed at the request of the students in the 2011-2012 programs! Let no future scientist be left behind!
LAST CHANCE SCIENCE! These are experiments & ideas that never made it in our general curriculum! Play with prototypes! Repurpose & reimagine discarded objects! Pick an object, then change it from what the original engineers designed to be your own invention! No two will be the same!! Great way to have fun & keep the science going!
