SPECTRUM OF SCIENCE FOUNDATION POLICIES

REGISTRATION AND CANCELLATION POLICY
All participants will be enrolled on a first-come, first served basis. If a lab is full, registrants will be notified and placed on a wait list. A written notice of cancellation for any program is required four weeks prior to the session start date in order to receive a refund; there is a $25 cancellation fee. If a cancellation is made between two and four weeks prior to the session start date; there is a $25 cancellation fee and there is no refund on the supply fee. Spectrum of Science Foundation will not refund payments for cancellations received less than 8 business before the session start date.

RETURN CHECKS
A $20 service charge is required for returned checks.

PICKUP
All children need to be picked up at their assigned classroom at the end of class or must have a written note giving them permission to walk/bike home or daycare unescorted. Spectrum of Science staff will wait with all children left at the school even if they have a walk note & late fees will be assessed!! Your child should not stay and play but must go directly home. Any child not picked up at the end of class with be assessed at a late fee, see below. While our staff is totally dedicated to our children, and we guarantee that they will stay with all children until they have been picked up, a late pick up causes a tremendous problem at their next job or next school site.

LATE PICK UP POLICY
Please make arrangements to pick up your child at the end of class. Our instructors need to leave to get to the next commitment and Spectrum of Science guarantees to the school/facility that we will never leave a child unsupervised. There is a 10 minute window for late pick up after that a late fee of $20 each 15 minutes or part there of will be charged.

ATTENDANCE
Your child is responsible to get themselves to their assigned classroom. Unfortunately, the Spectrum of Science staff can not pick up your child and escort them to the program, just too many classrooms. The Spectrum of Science staff will escort all on site day care children to the after school care at the end of the lab. Parents, please assist your child in learning where the After School Science lab takes place and if needed send a note your school teacher to remind your child to go to Spectrum of Science.

SICK CHILD POLICY
Parents, if your child does not attend school, they may not attend Spectrum of Science. Please keep your sick children at home for the health of everyone.

VISITORS IN THE CLASSROOM: Effective: 7/20/06
As of July 20, 2006 parents/guardians/siblings are not allowed to stay in the classroom. They are welcome to drop in unexpectedly, any time throughout the day but may not stay more than 5 minutes and should not interrupt the class. If a parent or interested facility wants to observe for a longer time period, they need to make arrangements with either Mary or AmyBeth Ogden. A company representative will attend the class with the interested individual. All visitors on a school site must also check in and get a visitor badge from the school office.

Do acknowledge every adult that comes into the room and find out what they need. Any concerns or problems, have the adult contact the office at 925.820.2415.

EXCEPTIONS:
Do not restrict facility staff, the classroom teacher or principal from their room.
